Permeability Test

It is also known as hydraulic conductivity test. It is used to determine the permeability or the ability of soil to transmit water via pores. Permeability is one of the essential parameters because it governs the important factors such as drainage, strength, bearing capacity etc. of a soil. The main significance of the permeability test is to determine the permeability value of a soil which is later used to assess drainage characteristics, slope stability, potential soil liquefaction as well as its influence on groundwater flow and seepage.
